Hi, I'm Jing Xie,Ā MS, RDN, LDN

Ā

I grew up in Guangzhou, China, and moved to the U.S. when I was 18. In addition to English, I speak Cantonese and Mandarin, which helps me connect with a diverse range of people.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition from Boston University. With over a decade of nutrition experience, I've been working as a Registered Dietitian since 2018 in various healthcare settings. Currently, Iā€™m an Outpatient Renal Dietitian at Fresenius Kidney Care in Boston.

In my role, I assess dialysis patientsā€™ lab results, weights, fluid status, appetite, bowel function, and social circumstances. I provide ongoing, outcome-focused nutrition counseling to help patients achieve their goals. One of my greatest joys is seeing their hard work pay offā€”when a patient says, ā€œMy labs are better thanks to you!ā€ itā€™s the highlight of my day.

Before specializing in renal care, I worked as a Clinical Dietitian in acute care, long-term care, and outpatient hospital settings. My expertise includes kidney and heart disease, diabetes, gastrointestinal issues, and preventive nutrition. I take an evidence-based, non-diet, and individualized approach to Medical Nutrition Therapy, helping people of all backgrounds and body sizes achieve lasting success. I firmly believe in fitting all your favorite foods into a healthy diet.

Outside of work, I love exploring cuisines from different cultures, cooking, taking walks with my husband, and playing board games. As a dietitian, Iā€™m all about balanceā€”I donā€™t demonize any foods, and yes, my favorite food is French fries!

My Approach
Ā

"Itā€™s not just about managing kidney diseaseā€”itā€™s about thriving while doing so."

I believe in empowering individuals with kidney disease to take control of their health in a way that feels sustainable, supportive, and freeing. My approach goes beyond restrictive diets or generalized advice. Instead, I focus on creating personalized, practical solutions that align with your unique needs and goals, so you can live your best life while supporting your kidney health.

Itā€™s not just about improving labs or symptoms (although weā€™ll definitely do that); itā€™s about helping you feel confident, energized, and in control of your well-being.

My passion for helping people with kidney disease comes from seeing firsthand how confusing and overwhelming dietary management can be. I know how much of an impact the right guidance and support can make, and Iā€™m here to offer that clarity and relief.

Through my programsā€”whether itā€™s the high-touch Kidney Strong Method or the accessible Ultimate Kidney-Friendly Meal Planā€”I strive to make kidney health manageable, attainable, and empowering for you.

Letā€™s work together to transform the way you approach your kidney health. Because you deserve more than just managing your diseaseā€”you deserve to thrive.

The Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) Difference

Ā

In a word: integrity. RDNs are regulated with national and state licenses, highly trained in nutritional and food science, rigorously matched with intensive internships, and prove their expertise through a national licensure exam. RDNs maintain their certification through continuous education.

Only RDNs are allowed to perform ā€œMedical Nutrition Therapy.ā€ This means they tailor their counseling and recommendations to the individual clientā€™s medical conditions and specific considerations.

Fun Facts About Me

  1. Favorite food: French Fries. I love coaching my clients with kidney disease to incorporate potatoes back into their diet!Ā

  2. My top priority when planning a trip: My husband and I make restaurant reservations before we even book plane tickets. As a kidney dietitian and a foodie, I don't believe in never eating out. A lot of my clients with kidney disease are able to see their labs improve without avoiding restaurant meals, after they get practical strategies from me!

  3. Apart from English, what other languages do I speak: Originally from Guangzhou, China, I'm fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese. I moved to the U.S. on my own at 18 to attend college at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
